Forum: texts Subject: Books to Borrow mixed in with downloadable books

Is there some way to eliminate the time-wasting links to books that can only be borrowed. This has happened to me so many times lately that I'm becoming very frustrated. It's no use selecting "Available All the Time'" option because it doesn't work efficiently enough. It makes no sense to mix the downloadable books with the borrow books. The Open Library is supposed to be the place to go if someone wants a borrow only book. There's enough garbage floating around the text section--neonazi and holocaust denying literature, the obsessive Leo Frank factions, document dumps from the government to name a few--without throwing in a whole new category of books. It's a time waster and doesn't seem to have a purpose. Thank you for reading my post.

learning how to use search queryies would help. if you don't want lending or community texts items you can use this as your query:

mediatype:texts AND -collection:(inlibrary OR opensource)

so the user would be AND -collection:(inlibrary OR opensource)

and, fwiw, one persons garbage is another persons treasure.

happy hunting.
